The Martins Ferry Hall of Honor
As Mayor of Martins Ferry, Mr. Leslie A. Douglas sought a way to honor those citizens whose actions and accomplishments “aided, affected, or brought fame” to Martins Ferry. In 2007, Mr. Douglas named the founding members of the committee who would choose the citizens for induction into the Martins Ferry Hall of Honor.
Since its inception, the Martins Ferry Hall of Honor has been generously sponsored by The Citizens Bank. As sole sponsor, The Citizens Bank has enabled the committee to purchase plaques featuring each inductee, hold the annual induction ceremony, and assist in countless other improvements which have sustained The Hall of Honor.
A display listing Hall of Honor inductees may be seen in front of the Martins Ferry City Building on the corner of 5th and Walnut Streets. Also, plaques containing inductees’ biographical information are on display in the auditorium of the Martins Ferry Public Library.
